Restart PA XP hostagent services. For example, :\Program

Files\Hewlett-Packard\sanmgr\hostagent\sbin> hastart.bat

On the management station launch Performance Advisor XP and click on the Configuration tab.

Select Host Information tab and click on Request Info followed by Submit.

Once the Status column in the Host Information screen is updated with the status Received, click

on the Data Collection Configuration tab. All the command devices on which GUID is created are

appended with (GUID), as shown in

All the PA Configuration and Performance Data Collection through the command device file names

labeled with “(GUID)” string uses \\?\Volume {GUID}.

NOTE:

The following are important notes for accurate functioning of the Configuration and Performance Data

Collection Pre-requisites for Windows Operating System:

The Command Device on which GUID is created needs to be mounted always, otherwise Performance

Advisor XP configuration and performance data collection may fail.

When you create a GUID, you must request for the updated host information through the Host

Information screen otherwise the Performance Advisor XP configuration and performance data

collection may fail.

If you delete a GUID partition and recreate it, then you must request for updated host information

through the Host Information Performance Advisor XP configuration and performance data collection

may fail.

If GUID creation is successful and the command device is bad then Performance Advisor XP

configuration and performance data collection may fail.
