Tape device LUN mapping
When performing LUN mapping, ensure that a given LUN number from a backend physical target is
the same across all initiators in the container. Failure to do so can result in unpredictable switch
behavior including blade/switch faults. Use the following command to list the LUNs in the target.
switch:admin> cryptocfg --discoverLUN
NOTE
It is recommended that you follow the above rule if a given LUN on the backend target is LUN
mapped to different initiators.
Special notes for HP Data Protector backup and restore application
Tape pool encryption policy specification
Tape pool encryption policy specification has certain restrictions based on the platform.
•
On Windows systems, HP Data Protector can be used with tape pool encryption policy
specification only if the following pool label options are used:

Pick from Barcode
-
User Supplied – Only 9 characters or less
For other options, the behavior defaults to tape LUN encryption policy.
•
On HP-UX systems, HP Data Protector cannot be used with tape pool encryption specification
for any of the pool options. The behavior defaults to tape LUN encryption policy.
Tape LUN encryption policy specification
Tape LUN encryption policy specification has no restrictions and can be used with HP Data
Protector on HP-UX and Windows systems.
