The Phone and Modem Options
window will display the newly installed
Modem as well as the COM port it is
“attached to”.
Highlight the new modem and press
the Properties button.
Select the Modem tab and verify the
Maximum Port Speed is set to 115200.
If it is not, select 115200 from the drop
down list. Press OK to exit and OK again
to exit the Phone and Modem
Options screen.
To set up Dial-Up Networking, select
the Start button > Control Panel >
Network Connections
(in Classic View)
Select ‘Create a new connection’ under
the Network Tasks menu on the left.
Press Next to begin the Dial-Up
Networking setup. Select the ‘Connect
to the network at my workplace’ option
and press the Next button.
