• check for web update: Click this button in the Update Device screen to check the web for possible
software updates. This screen will retrieve the software update file and display any available update
information. You must be connected to the Internet to use this option.
NOTE: If you click check for web update and the page returns a “page not found” message, this
indicates that the software update file is not available. Go back to the previous screen to continue.
• web update now: Click this button in the Update Device screen to download the software update file and
automatically update the modem firmware if an update is available and applicable. You must be connected
to the Internet to use this option.
• local update now: Click this button to update your modem using the update file that is stored on a local
device. No Internet connection is required to use this option.
If you click the settings button in the Update Device screen, the following screen will appear. This screen displays
the location of the software update file.
