HOW TO TEST AND ADJUST

PILOT PUMP RELIEF VALVE

TESTING AND ADJUSTING THE

STEERING CIRCUIT RELIEF VALVE

The circuit relief for the steering circuit is located in
the priority flow divider valve.

If the adjustment is needed, remove the hose and
fitting from the rear top port of the priority valve and
adjust pressure. Using an allen wrench, turn the
adjusting nut located inside the port. Turn clockwise
to increase pressure or counter-clockwise to decrease
the pressure.

Install mini-check gage in port located by the
FWD/REV Pilot Pressure Valve located behind
the operator’s cab,

(B).

Start engine and run at idle RPM, to assure
accumulator charge.

The pilot pressure gage should read 350 psi ± 25.

If adjustment is needed, adjust the pilos relief
valve.

If adjustment cannot be made, replace the relief
valve or examine other components in the pilot
circuit.

Remove gage.

Insert the pressure gaye in the test port on the
tube coming from the 1st or inboard pump
section

(A).

Turn the steering wheel in either direction until
the rear wheels bottom aginst the stops. Con-
tinue to attempt to tum the wheel.

The gage should read 2500 psi with engine at
idle rpm.
