INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE ASSEMBLY OF STEERING PARTS
TYPE PDI 25 AND 26 PDD 35 AND 50
Before assembly of the pivot on the axle housing, determine the dimensions:
X = middle of the pivot to the lower cap shoulder, get by adding or subtracting from the
theoretical size, the value engraved on the pivot (see drawing for the engraved position).
theoretical size:
PDI 25: 152mm (5.984 inches)
PDD 35: 161mm (6.338 inches)
PDI 65: 193mm (7.598 inches) PDD 50: 188mm (7.401 inches)
Z = middle of the axle housing sphere to the bearing cup shoulder, obtained by adding or
subtracting from the theoretical size, the value engraved on the axle housing sphere.
theoretical size:
PDI 25: 96.90mm (3.815 inches)
PDD 35: 92.25mm (3.632 inches)
PDI 65: 126mm (4.961 inches) PDD 50: 121mm (4.764 inches)
Y = Thickness of the lower bearing + lower trunnion; measured with bearing preloaded un-
der a load of:
PDI 25: 2500 kg (55125 lbs/2.756 tons)
PDD 35: 3500 kg (7717 lbs/3.858 tons)
PDI 65: 6500 kg (14332 lbs/7.166 tons) PDD 50 5000 kg (11025 lbs/5.512 tons)
