Upgrading Firmware via a Web Browser
Eicon Networks Corporation posts the latest Eicon 1550/1551 firmware on its web site.
You can automatically update your Eicon 1550/1551 to the latest version using the web
configuration interface.
Note: Configuration settings are normally preserved during firmware updates. However, if you wish to make
a backup of your configuration before upgrading, see
Saving and Resetting Configuration Settings
Procedure
1.
Log in to the Eicon 1550/1551 as described in
Accessing the Configuration Menu
2.
From the main menu, click ‘Maintenance’.
The maintenance menu appears with two options, ‘Firmware’ and ‘Configuration’.

Click ‘Firmware’ to display the ‘Firmware Maintenance’ page.
4.
To save a copy of the Eicon 1550/1551’s current firmware to disk, click ‘Backup’. This
is done in case you encounter problems installing or using the new firmware.
To upgrade the firmware, click the ‘Browse’ button, then select the new firmware file.
When complete, the Eicon 1550/1551 is automatically reset to activate the new
firmware.
