5.10 SELECT: FAST

FAST (Fully Accessible System Topology) is the way to enable new options in the modem.
Available FAST options include:
► Tx Freq Range: IF70-140 MHz
► Tx TPC Data Rate: 16-9980 kbps
► Tx FEC: TPC
► Rx FEC/Symbol Rate: DVBS to 45 Msps / DVBS2 to 62 Msps
► Rx Demodulation: DVBS / DVBS2 / QPSK / 8PSK / 16APSK / 32 APSK
► CCM
On the top line, select the Options, Configure, or Demo-Mode using the ◄ ► arrow keys, then
press ENTER.
The bottom line provides the CDM-740’s baseboard serial number. This number is required when
contacting Comtech EF Data Customer Support to purchase any FAST upgrades.

arrow keys to scroll through the listings of available FAST option displays, similar
to the above example. Each FAST option is available via its own FAST unlock codes. Contact
Comtech EF Data Customer Support to obtain the FAST code for the desired option.
5.10.2 FAST: Configure
FAST Config: Word1 Word2 Word3
FAST: Configure is used to enable new options in the modem. The FAST options are accessed
via three separate internal EEPROM registers, each using its own FAST unlock code. It is
important to use the appropriate FAST unlock code for the appropriate register. Select the
correct register menu – Word1, Word2, or Word3 using the

arrow keys, then press
ENTER.
