Remote Retrieval
You can call your MFC from any touch lone phone (or remote Group 3 fax
machine set for tone) and use a Remote Access Code and other button presses to
retrieve voice (and fax) messages. You can also program and change some
settings for your Message Center.
Using Remote Access Code__________________
Dial your MFC phone number from a touch tone phone.
When your MFC answers and beeps, immediately enter your Remote Access
Code.
Ш- The MFC signals the kinds of messages received:
1 long beep—Fax message(s)
2 long beeps—Voice message(s)
3 long beeps—Fax and Voice message(s)
No beeps—no messages.
ei' The MFC then pronpls you with two short beeps to enter a command. If you
wait longer than 30 seconds to enter a command, the MFC hangs up. If you
enter an invalid command, the MFC be^s three times.
Press Ш О to reset the MFC when you finish.
S’ Hangup.
If your MFC is set to MANUAL, you can access the Message Center by waiting 20
rings, then entering the Remote Access Code within 30 seconds.
Changing Remote Access Code______________
Enter your Remote Access Code when the MFC picks up your call, so you can
access features remotely. The access code is preset to 159*, but you can change
this.

'2' Enter a three-digit number from 000 to 999- Do not use the same digits that
appear in your Remote Activation or Deactivation Code.
¡2 Wait 2 seconds.
^ Press H to exit.
When you call your MFC and enter the Remote Access Code, you must press the
fourth digit ®.
