• Assigning CONTROLLER 1 through CONTROLLER 4 to Specific Effects
Once the MIDI controllers you wish to use have been selected using the CONTROLLER 1—4 functions described above, you can
then assign the controllers to the specific FX900 effect parameters. Control assignment is carried out in the MEMORY of EDIT
mode.
1. After exiting the UTILITY mode (either scroll past the
end of the UTILITY function list or hold the [UTILITY]
button until it goes out), press the [ASSIGN] key.

2. Select CONTROLLER 1,2, 3, or 4 by repeatedly
pressing the [ASSIGN] key.
3. The cursor will initially appear under the currently
selected parameter. Use the [DATA ENTRY] control or
[A]
and [▼] keys to select the parameter you wish to
control. All parameters for the currently selected effects
are available — except for the few listed below.*
"CderTHR", for example, refers to the compressor
threshold level parameter. Cde:LPF is the distortion low-
pass filter frequency parameter, etc. The individual
parameters are described in detail in the "7. The Effects
and their Parameters" section beginning on page 19. In
addition to the standard effect parameters, the following
parameters are available;

PCS: PCR
CDW: FRQ

• DYN:VOL, MOD:VOL, RV1:VOL and RV2:VOL —
these set the controller to a control the volume of the
corresponding effect group.
4. Use the cursor [ ◄] and [ ►] keys to move the cursor to
the MIN and then to the MAX position, using the [DATA
ENTRY] control or
[A]
and
[T]
keys at each position to
set the desired control range. Both MIN and MAX have a
possible value range of 0 to 100%. For example, if the
original range for Cde:LVL is -42 to 6 (dB), then setting
MIN and MAX to 10 and 90 (%), respectively, produces
a control range from -38 to -5 (dB).
5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 above to assign parameters to
the remaining controllers as required.
6. When finished with controller assignment, press the
[MEMORY] key or an EDIT key to return to the desired
mode.
NOTE: The parameter assigned to one CONTROLLER
cannot simultaneously be assigned to another.
