Control of the counter
The counter is controlled via the hardware gate (HW gate) and the software gate (SW gate).
The HW gate and the SW gate are combined with an AND operation.
The HW gate is controlled via the signal at input 8 of the counter module.

Note!
• In the "Counting only once" mode, the control of the counter is restricted.
– For a restart after a complete counting process, the counter requires
corresponding start signals via the HW gate and the SW gate.
A start signal via the SW gate will not cause the counting process to start if
the HW gate is deactivated.
• The SW gate is addressed via bit 2 of the control word (0x5602/x):
– In the »Engineer«, bit 2 can be controlled directly in index 0x5602/x in the
object list.
– Control via PDO (see PDO mapping in the I/O system 1000 system manual).
