Before you contact HP
Be sure to have the following information available before you call HP:

Technical support registration number (if applicable)
•
Product serial number
•
Product model name and number
•
Applicable error messages
•
Add-on boards or hardware
•
Third-party hardware or software
•
Operating system type and revision level
•
If you need to contact HP, provide the following details to help resolve your problem quickly
and accurately:

Details of the physical Netcool/OMNIbus environment
○
Any error information (Save an output file or screen shot.)
○
Information on whether the issue is reproducible with the original release or only on end-
user customized rules file.
○
Copies of the following output files:

List of installed Netcool/OMNIbus applications, revisions numbers, and patches.

Installation log file mttrapd.log
−
Rules file, if customized by end user
