108 Configure Operating Mode
2. Select Operating Mode from the Configure menu.
The Configure Operating Mode dialog box displays.

3. Make sure that Open Systems mode is selected. HP does not support S/390 mode.
4. Select McDATA Fabric 1.0 or Open Fabric 1.0 from the Interop Mode list box.

Select the interop mode as follows:
– McDATA Fabric 1.0. Select this mode if the director is fabric-attached only to
compatible McDATA switches or FC-64 devices and you require port zoning.
– Open Fabric 1.0. Select this mode if the director is fabric-attached to McDATA
switches, FC-64 devices, or other open-fabric compliant switches. Note that port
zoning is not supported in Open Fabric mode.
5. Click Activate to save your changes and to close the dialog box.
