5 Configuration File Loader
5-1 Overview of Configuration File Loader
This chapter contains the following topics:
• General spreadsheet conventions (see section 5-2 )
• LUN Manager spreadsheet conventions (see section 5-3 )
• Configuration File Loader operations (see section 5-4 )
Configuration File Loader is used to make large-scale or “batch” changes to the LUN Manager configuration of
the XP1024/XP128 Disk Array subsystem, using either a text editor or spreadsheet software to edit configuration
definition files (spreadsheet files) and apply the changes. You can apply the same configuration definition file to
different subsystems, and you can define the configuration when you are offline.
NOTE: The instructions in this chapter assume the use of Microsoft Excel® 2000, and it is recommended for
best compatibility.
Currently Configuration File Loader supports only LUN Manager functions.
Figure 5-1 is a flow chart of Configuration File Loader operations.
Log on to Remote Web
Console.
Start Configuration File
Loader.
Download the current settings
spreadsheet.
Edit the spreadsheet.
Upload the edited
spreadsheet.
Is any error found by the First
check or the Second check?.
Check the error on the error
message and the error list.
Apply the new settings.
Is any error found
by the Third check?
