SMCONVRT Utility Startup Conditions
DETAIL
is an optional parameter that causes SMCONVRT to display status and file
information during migration.
AUTO
is an optional parameter that disallows any user confirmations.
MAXMEM
allocates the maximum extended segment for SMCONVRT. Note that this might
limit the number of SMCONVRT processes that can be run in parallel.
Supplying Parameters
Because SMCONVRT is introducing a new virtual disk to SMF, it prompts you for these
parameters:
VDP program file name
Primary CPU number
Backup CPU number
ANT file location
PENDOPS location
START DOWN flag
Cache size
ANT file capacity
SMCONVRT Utility Startup Conditions
Before processing, SMCONVRT verifies that:
The physical volume exists.
The new physical volume does not exist.
The specified pool name is valid, and the pool is defined.
If the physical volume is a TMF data volume, it is disabled cleanly. No volume
recovery operations are pending.
The physical volume is in the DOWN state.
The $ZSMS and the pool process specified with the startup parameter are up.
The ANT and PENDOPS volumes entered in response to the prompts for the VDP
parameters are in pools, and the pool processes are in the UP state.
If any of these conditions are not satisfied, SMCONVRT notifies you and terminates.
You must alleviate the conditions before executing SMCONVRT again.
