PUP Commands

summarizes the PUP commands you use to configure and manage $ZSMS,

storage pool processes, and virtual disk processes. With the exception of the UP,
DOWN, PRIMARY, and LISTDEV commands, these PUP commands operate only on
storage pool and virtual disk processes, not on $ZSMS. For additional information on

Enables acceptance of new file open requests for physical vol-
umes associated with a storage pool

DEFINEPOOL

Defines the attributes of a storage pool

DEFINEVIRTDISK

Defines the attributes of a virtual disk

DEISOLATE

Makes an isolated physical volume available for file placement

DELETEPOOL

Deletes information about a storage pool from the $ZSMS cata-
log

DELETEVIRTDISK

Deletes information for a virtual disk from the $ZSMS catalog

DEQUARANTINE

Makes a quarantined physical volume available for file place-
ment decisions by SMF

DOWN

Suspends the execution of a process

EXCLUDE

Disassociates a physical volume from a storage pool

INCLUDE

Associates a physical volume with a storage pool

ISOLATE

Makes a physical volume unavailable for file placement

LISTDEV DISK

Retrieves information about currently executing physical volume
or virtual disk processes

LISTDEV

Modifies the attributes of a storage pool

REDEFINEVIRTDISK

Modifies the attributes of a virtual disk
