UP Command

$process-name

is the process name or logical device number of the process you want to put in the
UP or UP SPECIAL execution state. The process can be $ZSMS, a storage pool
process, or a virtual disk process.

If the process is a storage pool process, use the LOGVOL, PHYSICAL, or ALLVOL
options to control the scope of the command. These options allow you to put
processes or devices associated with the pool in a UP or UP SPECIAL state, in
addition to the pool itself.

S[PECIAL]

places the process in the UP SPECIAL execution state. If you omit this option, the
process is placed in the UP execution state.

L[OGVOL]

indicates that the target of the command should be all virtual disks associated with
a specified storage pool process. The catalog of the storage pool process must
be accessible.

P[HYSICAL]

indicates that the target of the command should be all physical volumes associated
with a specified storage pool process. The catalog of the storage pool process
must be accessible.

A[LLVOL]

indicates that the target of the command should be all virtual disks and all physical
volumes associated with a specified storage pool. The catalog of the storage pool
process must be accessible.
