NOTE:

For 3PAR Storage Systems, during the import process or when modifying array

access credentials in the Array Properties dialog box, specifying an invalid user name or
password will cause SPM to hang for several minutes. Verify the correct information about
the array model and firmware version from the Array Properties dialog box.

IMPORTANT:

SPM does not currently support virtual domains. When importing 3PAR Storage

Systems, select only users that have permission level super and belong to the All virtual domain.

NOTE:

3PAR Storage Systems have three port types:

Target

ports are SCSI initiator ports connected to 3PAR disk enclosures. SPM does not

show Target ports.

Host

ports are SCSI target ports that are connected to a SAN and through which at least

one host, at one point in time, had access to at least one volume on the array. Host ports
are displayed in the Array Connectivity dialog box.

Free

ports are array ports that are not yet used as Host or Target ports. Typically, Free

ports are not yet physically connected. They can also be ports connected to a SAN but
through which no host has connected yet. Because Free’ ports can become Host ports,
they are displayed in the Array Connectivity dialog box.

6.

Click Next.

The summary screen appears. If you selected an EVA disk array, any changes made to the
array or its volumes within Command View EVA may not immediately be visible in SPM. If
the changes do not appear, wait a few minutes, then refresh the catalog.

7.

Click the Finish button at the bottom of the dialog box to view the list of arrays, including the
one just added.

The array is added.

Adding an unmanaged array

No communication exists between SPM and an unmanaged array. Therefore, no automated
operations are performed on the array by SPM.
