OPERATION
This chapter explains how to operate the GD402 Analyzers.
3.1
Preparation for Operation
CAUTION
(1) DO NOT supply power to the analyzer when inspecting it.
(2) Leave the power switch which is built in the converter, in the ON position.
(3) DO NOT open the terminal box cover with the power turned on, if the analyzer is installed in
an explosion-hazardous area.
(4) When using the converter under high ambient temperatures, be careful as the metal parts of
the converter will also be hot.
3.1.1
Inspecting Installation, Piping and Wiring
Workmanship
Before turning the power on, inspect workmanship with regards to installation, piping and wiring
as instructed below:

Examine how the GD402 analyzer and its peripheral equipment are installed.
l
Check the sample-gas line, which feeds the GD40 detector, for any gas leakage.
l
Inspect the system to ensure that the GD402 analyzer and its peripheral equipment are
wired correctly. After inspection, shut the terminal box cover securely.
l
Place the power switch built in the GD402T, GD402V, GD402R converter (explosion-
protected) in the ON position.
