Front panel Configuration port

This port parallels the rear panel RS-232 Secondary port. If a front panel
configuration connection is made, the rear panel RS-232 Secondary port becomes
inactive and the front panel Configuration port is active. The two paralleled
ports’ protocol can be changed via SIS command control only. See the “Set serial
port parameters” command in “Command/response table for IP-specific SIS
commands” on page 4-20 to configure this port under SIS control.
The optional 9-pin D to 2.5 mm mini jack TRS RS-232 cable, part #70-335-01
(figure 4-2) can be used for connection to the Configuration port.
