Compaq Aero
The handheld PC seats directly into the cradle mounted on the Palm-SPEC spectrometer.
Connect the power supply to the rear of the Spectrometer. The Aero will draw power from the spectrometer and
cradle. No additional handheld PC power supply is required.
HP Jornada
1. Connect the 1.3 mm adapter connected to the thicker power wire to the rear of the Jornada Cradle.
2. Connect the 1.3 mm adapter attached to the thin black power wire to the rear of the Palm-Spec.
3. Connect the DB9 serial cable from the Jornada cradle to the Palm-SPEC Spectrometer.
Compaq iPAQ
1. Connect the 1.3mm adapter with the yellow tip to the iPAQ
2. Connect the 1.3mm adapter with the black tip to either power socket on the rear of the Palm-SPEC.
3. Connect the DB9 serial cable from the iPAQ cradle to the Palm-SPEC Spectrometer.

The following paragraphs contain information that is important to remember when using the Palm-SPEC system:

Read and understand all documentation regarding your handheld PC and your handheld operating
system. You can typically find this documentation in the packaging of your handheld PC.

Do not run OOIPSCU Palm-SPEC Conversion Utility software until you have installed ActiveSync onto
your desktop or laptop PC.
