directly to your PC. For more information on OOIPSCU, see page 33.

You will need the password found on the back of your Ocean Optics Software and Resources Library CD to
download and install new versions of OOIPS2000.

Display Functions
You can access several OOIPS2000 functions directly through buttons on the main display screen. From the
display screen, you can choose an operation mode, scale the graph, take processed scans and log data.
System Diagnostics
This feature monitors the functionality of the system -- such as the performance of the light source, the life of the
bulbs, signal-to-noise for the current acquisition parameters, and integration time optimization.
Performing System Diagnostics
To perform a diagnostics test, follow the steps below:
1. Click the System Diagnostics icon or select Spectra | System Diagnostics | Start from the menu at the
bottom of the handheld PC.
2. Enter the name of the diagnostics file, which will store the results of the system diagnostics test.
3. Click the Start button to begin the test. The test will start, and will take approximately 2-3 minutes to
complete.
While the diagnostics test is running, you can view the progress of the test in the display area. When the
diagnostics test is completed, click the OK circle in the upper left corner of the dialog box to return to the main
display screen.
Viewing Diagnostic Results
To view the file that lists the results of the system diagnostics test, select Spectra | System Diagnostics | View
Results from the menu. Select the file with the name that you assigned for the diagnostic tests.
