Store Reference Only
To store a reference spectrum only (without the system automatically storing a dark spectrum and adjusting the
integration time) select Spectra | Store Reference Only from the menu. If a long time has passed since storing
the last reference spectrum but you don't want to use the Store Reference and Dark function (since that will also
turn the light source off to take the dark measurement), select this option.
This option is unavailable until you enable it using the Store Separate Dark and Ref. option described below.
Store Dark Only
To store a dark spectrum only (without the system automatically storing a reference spectrum and adjusting the
integration time) select Spectra | Store Dark Only from the menu. Use this option only if you are using an
external light source (not the light source that came with the Palm-SPEC) that is electrically connected to the
Palm-SPEC.
This option is unavailable until you enable it using the Store Separate Dark and Ref. option described below.
Store Separate Dark and Ref.
When you select the Store Separate Dark and Ref. function, it merely enables you to use the Store Reference
Only and Store Dark Only functions described above. Storing a reference and a dark is requisite before the
software can calculate absorbance and transmission spectra.
To enable the ability to store a dark and reference spectrum separately, select Spectra | Store Separate Dark
and Ref. from the menu. When enabled, a check mark appears next to this option in the menu.
