File Menu Functions
File menu functions allow you to manage spectral data, define how OOIPS2000 handles data files, and establish
and control user access.
Open
To open specific file types, select File | Open from the menu and then choose Dark, Reference, Processed or
Experiment data files.
Note: When you open a data file and the acquisition parameters of the file do not match the current settings, a
warning box allows you to change the acquisition parameters, ignore the disparity between the
parameters, or cancel the opening of the data file.
Dark
Select File | Open | Dark to select and open a dark spectrum. If, while in this open dialog box, you wish
to open a spectrum other than a dark spectrum, select All Files from the Type drop-down menu to
display all data files. Click on a file to select it.
Reference
Selecting File | Open | Reference from the menu opens a file open dialog box, allowing you to select and
open a reference spectrum. If, while in this open dialog box, you wish to open a spectrum other than a
reference spectrum, select All Files next to Type to display all data files. When you have selected a file,
click the
OK
button to open the file.
Processed
Selecting File | Open | Processed from the menu opens a file open dialog box allowing you to select and
open a processed spectrum. Traditionally, processed spectra are made while in absorbance or
transmission mode after the dark and reference spectra are taken. When selecting a processed spectrum,
the active spectral window goes into snapshot mode and data acquisition freezes. To resume acquisition,
simply select the snapshot icon. If, while in this open dialog box, you wish to open a spectrum other than a
processed spectrum, select All Files next to Type to display all data files. When you have selected a file,
click the
OK
button to open the file.
Experiment
Selecting File | Open | Experiment from the menu opens a file open dialog box allowing you to select an
experiment file. This command does not open a file. Instead, it opens a complete set of acquisition and
processing parameters for an experiment.
