Delete User
To delete a current user, click the user's name in the Manage Users screen and select the Delete User
button. You are prompted to confirm the user deletion. Click the Yes button to delete the user, or click the No
button to cancel.
If security is enabled, users must log into the OOIPS2000 software. You can configure user names, passwords,
and options available to each user in the Manage Users | Set User’s Rights screen.
To enter a Username and Password, select File | Login from the menu. If you do not enter the correct
information, you will receive a Login Failure message and be prompted to retry. After three attempts, the software
terminates.
Note: If you cannot access the system due to an incorrect Username and/or Password, refer to the card that
came with this manual. This card contains an emergency access Username and Password. When you
enter this Username and Password, you will have access to all functions and features of the system. You
should use this account only to reset existing user passwords, and then return to using previously
established accounts.
Require User Logins
This option forces users to login before OOIPS2000 can run.
To enable this option, select File | Require User Logins from the menu. When enabled, a check mark will be
placed next to the Require User Logins option on the menu. You must restart OOIPS2000 before this option is
enabled.
Exit
To exit out of OOIPS2000, select File | Exit from the menu. You will exit immediately and will not receive a
prompt confirming program termination.
Spectra Menu Functions
Spectra menu functions allow you to manage how the software and spectrometer acquire, handle, and display data.
Store Reference and Dark
Storing a reference and a dark is requisite before the software can calculate absorbance or transmission spectra.
The reference is taken with the light source on and a blank in the sampling region. The dark is taken with the light
source turned off. When you select this option, the system automatically finds the best integration time (unless the
integration time is locked in Spectra | Configure | Data Acquisition), stores a reference, turns the light source
off, stores a dark, and turns the light back on for your experiment.
To store a reference and a dark, click the store reference and dark icon or select Spectra | Store Reference and
Dark from the menu at the bottom of the handheld PC screen.
This command merely stores a reference and a dark. You must use the File | Save | Reference and File | Save |
Dark commands to permanently save the reference and dark spectra.
