Stray Light (when tab selected)

This screen allows you to enable or disable the stray light correction, and also provides the stray light
correction coefficient for your spectrometer. Do not change this value.

Note: Stray light is light detected at a wavelength or wavelengths other than those at which the light

should be detected. All spectrometers experience stray light. By enabling the stray light
correction, the system reduces every pixel’s intensity to compensate for the total amount of
stray light.

Data Acquisition

To set data acquisition parameters, select Spectra | Configure | Data Acquisition from the menu.

Integration Time (msec)

The integration time of the spectrometer is similar to the shutter speed of a camera. The higher the
value specified for the integration time, the longer the detector “looks” at the incoming photons.

If your scope mode intensity is too low, increase this value; if too high, decrease the value. Adjust the
integration time (in milliseconds) so that the greatest amount of light you anticipate for your
application causes a signal of approximately 3500 counts while in scope mode. Please note that each
