3 Installation
3.1 Hardware requirements
ENGSoft can be installed on the following hardware configurations:

3.2 Supported operating systems
ENGSoft can be installed on the following operating systems:
l Windows XP 32/64bits
l Windows Vista 32/64bits
l Windows 7 32/64bits
ENGSoft is UAC compliant for OS that support it; no administrative rights are required to run the application. Note that you
must have administrative rights to run the installer.
3.3 Installation
All the installers are located under %ENGSOFT_PACKAGE%\Windows\ENGSoft.
Be sure to unzip all the installation files and folders before launching the setup process.
The installation directory contains six installation packages:
l Setup.exe : The ENGSoft main installer.
l p2driver_win32_v216.zip : Panasonic P2 driver for Windows 32bits OS.
l p2driver_win64_v216.zip : Panasonic P2 driver for Windows 64bits OS.
l XDCAM-FAMDriver-v2.30-SS03GF.zip : Sony PDW 1500 and PDW HD1500 drivers.
l PDW-U2-U1-3.2.exe : Sony PDW-U1 and PDW-U2 drivers for Windows.
l SBACUS10-PMW500-1.0.2SS03PM_1.zip : Sony SBAC US-10 driver.
On Windows Vista and later, the administrator's consent is required to launch Setup.exe.
Double-click on Setup.exe to start the ENGSoft installation, and let the installation wizard guide you. Any previous instal-
lation of ENGSoft will be prompted for uninstall if necessary. Once ENGSoft is installed on your machine you can install the
Manufacturer driver(s) corresponding to your device(s) if needed. You may have to restart your computer at that point.

To use ENGSoft with Avid® Interplay, please check that Interplay Web Services are properly installed on your Avid®
system. ENGSoft is compatible with Avid® Interplay v2.0 - 2.5 and Interplay Web services v1.4.1 - 2.4. If you have a dif-
ferent version of Interplay or Interplay Web Services, please contact [email protected].

It is recommended that you check the compatibility between the manufacturer driver(s) provided and the firmware
version of your device. The drivers provided by the manufacturers are generally the latest versions available at the time
ENGSoft was released. If you have a newer or certified version you can use it.
