10 Source Module
10.1 Overview
The source module supports two operating modes called the Real and the Virtual modes. Real mode operates on real phys-
ical devices whereas the virtual mode allows you to specify a local or remote folder as a source subject. To switch between
Real and Virtual mode, click on the button.
10.2 Supported MXF files
The ENGSoft source module handles MXF files. The MXF files are of different operational pattern and flavor, depending on
the manufacturer supported. ENGSoft v1.5 supports:
l Panasonic P2 OP-Atom MXF files;
l Files compliant with Sony XDCAM OP-1a MXF files;
l Sony e-VTR MXF files;
l CANON XF-series OP-1a MXF files.
Video codecs, rasters and audio tracks are described in the chart below:

MXF files whose format is not on the list above will be filtered out when you browse a source subject.
Consequently a subject containing no compatible MXF files will be considered empty.
