Figure 32: Connected e-VTR
To browse the e-VTR, simply click on the green tape. The contained sequences will appear in the explorer panel.
There are at least two default sequences on an e-VTR tape:
l
whole: the sequence represents the entire tape.
l
current: the sequence represents the video from the tape head to the end of the tape.

To browse the e-VTR again, you have to click on the
button, and then click on the green tape. It is a good practice to
rewind the tape manually before browsing the e-VTR because the device will not respond for some time (a matter of min-
utes) while it is performing a rewind. If you try to reconnect ENGSoft to the e- VTR while it is rewinding, the application may
interpret the lack of response as a connection failure.
To ingest an e-VTR sequence, you can use the same button as P2 or XDCAM mode (
-
).
ê
As there is no duration on an e-VTR sequence, the ingest progress bar should not be taken into account.
The e- VTR log is available in the directory "%ApplicationData%\OpenCube Technologies\OpenCube ENG-
Soft\log"
.
ê
As ENGSoft uses an FTP connection to ingest e-VTR, sometimes the connection may fail or timeout. You may have to
retry or switch off the e-VTR device.
