Figure 70: IPDirector metadata mapping panel
You can specify either a user defined value of the corresponding type or one of the source type's available metadata for
each attribute.
ê
You should be careful to map only compatible source sequence metadata to IPDirector metadata. For example, try-
ing to map a timecode to a date will not be valid. If a metadata mapping issue occurs at the time of ingest, a warning
popup will be raised on each ingest item concerned with a link to the Metadata mapping issue log. See "IPDirector
metadata mapping issue handling" on page 51 for more information on this subject.
To specify a user-defined value, select
"User" in the corresponding "Source" drop-down box and type the value you want
in the corresponding
"Value" field.
Figure 71: Setting a user defined attribute to an IPDirector ingest
To map a given source metadata, select
"MTD Clip" in the corresponding "Source" drop- down box and select the meta-
data you want in the
"Value" drop-down box.

i
The sequence attribute "Start TC" refers to the
Destination start timecode value if redefined in the ingest options
tab rather than the source start timecode. See "Start timecode redefinition" on page 43.
You can reset to the IPDirector server's metadata profiles set by clicking on the
button. By doing so you will retrieve the
set of metadata profiles currently configured on the server.
ê
If you reset to the server's set, it will erase the current metadata mapping.
