METAR and
TAF Text
Selected
Airport
TAFs (Terminal Aerodrome Forecasts) are weather predictions for specific airports generally within a 24-
hour period. TAFs typically include forecast wind, visibility, weather phenomena, and sky conditions using
METAR codes.
METAR and TAF text are displayed on the Weather Information Page. METAR data is displayed first in a
decoded fashion, then as raw text. TAF information is displayed only in its raw form.
Displaying METAR and TAF text:
1)
On the Weather Data Link Page, select the METAR Softkey.
2)
Press the RANGE Knob and pan to the desired airport.
3)
Press the ENT Key. The Weather Information Page is shown with METAR and TAF text.
4)
Use the FMS Knob or the ENT Key to scroll through the METAR and TAF text. METAR text is placed ahead of
the TAF text.
5)
Press the FMS Knob or the CLR Key to return to the Weather Data Link Page.
Or
:
1)
Select the Weather Information Page.
2)
Select the WX Softkey to select the Weather Information Page.
3)
Press the FMS Knob to display the cursor.
4)
Using the FMS Knob, enter the desired airport and press the
ENT
Key.
5)
Scroll through the METAR and TAF text with the FMS Knob or the ENT Key. Scroll through all of the METAR
text to get to the TAF text.
