Appendix E: Replacing the Hard Drive

Replacing the hard drive

To replace the hard drive:

1. Slide the new hard drive into the mounting bracket upside down.

2. Secure the hard drive to the mounting bracket using the four screws.

3. Firmly plug the SATA power and SATA data connector into the hard drive.

NOTE: You must format the new hard drive in order for the system to detect it. For details, see
“Formatting the Hard Drive” on page 110.

Mount the hard drive to the metal bracket
using the four screws.
