Setting up a PoE system (optional)
Requirements
Power over Ethernet (PoE) enables a power sourcing equipment (PSE) to supply power to powered
devices (PDs) through power interfaces (PIs) over twisted pair cables. Commonly used PDs include IP
telephones, APs, and web cameras.
To set up a PoE system, the following components are required:
•
A switch that supports PoE—The S10506 or S10510 switch.
•
An external PoE power frame—The PSE16KA0. For how to install the PSE16KA0, see "
•
PSEs—The LSUM2GV48SE0 cards.
