LOCAL MANAGEMENT

5-1. GENERAL

This section provides instructions for managing the fleets, vehicles, devices and defining them with
rules and information in the SiteOmat Station Controller database. Upon insertion of a fuel nozzle
to the vehicle’s fuel inlet, the reader (wired or wireless) reads the Fuel Ring information, decrypts
the encrypted string from the Fuel Ring and the string is sent to the SiteOmat. The SiteOmat then
compares the vehicle’s information against a negative or positive list on-line from the host
computer or in the local lists. Only after the vehicle information is authenticated, the SiteOmat
allows fueling.

Another means of automatic payment is the smart keys, which bear the user’s information in an
encrypted string. A smart key, held close to the Key Reader (an OrPT accessory), is read by the
Key Reader and the information is sent to the SiteOmat System Controller for authentication.

The SiteOmat application enables adding/removing and updating fleets and their vehicles, and
activating (fueling allowed) or blocking (fueling denied) fleets/vehicles. Management of the fleet
and vehicle lists is done by clicking on the "Local Management" button in the Navigation Bar, and
described in the following paragraphs.

The same screens that are defined in this section are used in the SiteOmat Head Office for Fleet
Management. Some of the defined fields are applicable in the Head Office for various reports such
as consumption.

NOTE

Local fleets and devices are allowed to refuel only in
the stations where they are defined. In a system with
several stations, use Head Office or Magic to
globally define the same rules and information.

5-2. LOCAL MANAGEMENT OVERVIEW

5-2.1. Devices Definition

A device in the SiteOmat system is a physical authorization device such as Fuel Ring (Vehicle
Identification Unit), tag, key or magnetic card. A keypad entry is also a device. All devices are part
of a department because a department is part of a fleet.

In order to refuel, an authentication device should be recognized by the SiteOmat. Once the reading
and parsing of the device string are done, a search for a match is executed in the SiteOmat database.
