Expression: Variables
You can use an expression to create a stage that is dependent on weight, height, age, etc. To
create such an expression, you can use the following variables:
Variable Explanation
C Current value (Watts, km/h or %)
KG Weight of the patient in kilograms
A Age of the patient in years
CM Height of the patient in centimeters
HR Current heart rate
Expression: Operators
You can combine variables into an expression with the following operators: + - * / ( )

Increase ergometer load by 40 W C+40
Increase ergometer load by half the weight C+(0.5*KG)
8.2.2. Treadmill protocols
A treadmill protocol is a collection of stages that together define the treadmill test. For each
stage in a treadmill protocol, you need to specify the name, duration, repetition, speed and
elevation. The Protocol editor automatically generates a stage number.

Note: The speed is always in km/h. To convert from mph to km/h, multiply the value in mph
with the M factor.
8.3 Blood pressure and Printer protocols
Blood pressure protocols
A blood pressure protocol can be used to automatically take blood pressure measurements
during the exercise test. For each stage in a blood pressure protocol, you need to specify the
name, duration and repetition. The Protocol editor automatically generates a stage number.
Printer protocols
A printer protocol can be used to automatically print copies during the test. For each stage in
a printer protocol, you need to specify the name, duration and repetition. The Protocol editor
automatically generates a stage number.
8.3.1. Blood pressure of printer protocol modes
Both Blood pressure protocol and Printer protocol can optionally be set to follow the exercise
protocol in the protocol editor window.
To set a Blood pressure or Printer protocol:
Select a protocol or enter a new protocol, see section 8.3 .
