CIF: Common Interchange Format. A 352 x 240 pixel format for 30 fps video conferencing.
Collaborate Central: ClearOne management server
Continuous Presence: Multiple users' video on screen at all times
D
DHCP: Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. Software that automatically assigns IP
addresses to client stations logging onto a TCP/IP network. It eliminates having to manually
assign permanent IP addresses.
DNS: Domain Naming System, which is software that enables computers on a network to be
referred to by name in addition to IP Addresses.
E
E.164: Recommendation E.164 provides the number structure and functionality for
addresses used for successfully routing calls in international public telecommunication.
G
Gatekeeper: A server that provides a central point for managing domains and establishing
call control. It is used for call control signals, to translate user names into IP addresses, to
authenticate users and to manage network resources. It also provides call authorization and
accounting information.

NAT: Network Address Translation. An IETF standard that allows an organization to present
itself to the Internet with one address.
O
Online directory: List of registered Internet and/or videoconferencing users who are currently
online.
P
PTZ: Pan/Tilt/Zoom. PTZ camera's position may be controlled by the user.
