Troubleshooting

Any service procedure not covered in this manual should be referred to an
authorized service facility.

Problem

Possible Cause

Unit will not

power up.

Battery pack drained.

Charge the battery pack. See

“Charging the Battery” on page 131.

Battery pack unable to

keep a charge.

Replace battery pack. See

“Replacing the Battery” on page 134.

AC adapter is damaged. Replace the AC adapter.

Batery Light

blinking

Battery cable has

become dislodged.

Return the unit for service.

Self test fails.

Error condition.

Turn off power, wait 15 seconds, then

turn power back on If the problem

persists, return the unit for service.

Keys do not

respond.

Unit is “Locked Up”.

Turn off power, wait 15 seconds, then

turn power back on.

Unit beeps and

turns off.

Internal error.

Turn off power, wait 15 seconds, then

turn power back on.

Unit was last shut down

because the battery was

too low to operate the unit.

Plug in AC adapter and operate the

unit from the AC power.

Unit operates

erratically.

System has become

unstable.

Turn off power, wait 15 seconds, then

turn power back on.

Unit ceases to

operate (locks up).

System has become

unstable.

Turn off power, wait 15 seconds,

then reapply power.

Sweep is too

slow.

Bandwidth set too low.

Increase Bandwidth. See “Setting

Occupied Bandwidth” on page 85.

Sweep stopped. Sweep set to single-

sweep or external trigger.

Set unit to continuous sweep. See

“Sweep More” on page 65.

Unit is “Locked Up”.

Turn off power, wait 15 seconds, then

turn power back on.
