Issue 07
5-11
Change application variables or the program.
Add new I/O base units, termination assemblies and extra I/O modules.
Delete modules from the system.
Change the size of a termination assembly to change the size of the I/O
module configuration.
Move a module to a different slot.
WARNING
If you change the internal I/O configuration in the Workbench but fail
to carry out the same hardware changes the application will stop and
the Run LED on the affected modules will go RED.
Follow this process:
1) Insert the Program Enable Key.
2) Select the resource and the Equipment tree view.
3) Do the changes to the hardware and software I/O configuration.
4) Save the change.
5) Select the Build Project Library button
to compile the application.
6) Select the On-line Change: Download button
to do an on-line update.
The application is now downloaded to confirm the configuration change.
The system will shutdown each module deleted during an on-line update and
the Run LED will go RED.
A single module or the first module in a group will start up and eductate and
the Run LED on the affected modules will go AMBER when the on-line change
is completed.
7) Press the Fault Reset button on the processor module to bring the modules fully
operational and the Run LED will go GREEN.
8) When 2
nd
or 3
rd
modules in a group are installed they will automatically educate
from the first module and go on-line.
Important Note: Adding modules by an on-line update will increase the application
cycle time by the amount of time required by the additonal modules and conversly
deleting modules will reduce the application cycle time.
