Syntax
set switch port=port [status=forwarding|disabled]
[description=”description”]
[flowcontrol=none|transmit|receive|both]

Parameters
port
Specifies the port you want to configure. You can
specify more than one port at a time. You can
specify the ports individually (e.g., 2,3,5), as a range
(e.g., 7-9), or both (e.g., 2,5,7-9).
status
Enables or disables a port. You might want to disable
a port and prevent it from forwarding packets if a
problem occurs with the node or cable connected to
the port. Once the problem has been fixed, you can
enable the port again to resume normal operation.
You can also disable an unused port to secure it from
unauthorized connections.
Possible settings are:
forwarding
The port will forward Ethernet frames.
This is the default setting for all ports
on the switch.
disabled
The port will not forward frames.
description
Specifies a name or description for the port. The
name can be from one to fifteen alphanumeric
characters. Spaces are allowed, but you should not
use special characters, such as asterisks or
exclamation points. If the name contains spaces, it
must be enclosed in double quotes.
flowcontrol
Specifies the flow control on the port. This
parameter only applies to ports operating in full-
duplex mode. Flow control is used by a port to
control the flow of ingress packets. A port uses a
special pause packet to stop the end node from
