Table 10 Diagnostic tests
Description Test
Checks for unrestricted motion of the library robotics. Robotics Self Test
enables testing repeated motions of each axis for service
debug and verification purposes. When setting up the test
on a CLM library, specify the CLM axis to test. Individual Axis Self Test
Calibrates the library robotics and sets it to the bottom of
the library with the optical sensor facing the back. Robotics to Home Position
Checks the position of all panels and columns, checks that
the picker is aligned with the slots. Calibrate Cabinet
Verifies that the serial number barcode can be read, then
displays the serial number of the cabinet. Read Cabinet Serial Number
Verifies that the IEEE Id barcode can be read, then displays
the IEEE Id of the cabinet. Read Cabinet IEEE Id
Verifies that the cabinet type barcode can be read, then
displays the cabinet type.
• LTOHPF is an initial full LTO library.
• LTOHPC indicates an initial capacity-on-demand LTO
library.
• LTO indicates an LTO library purchased before capacity-
on-demand was introduced.
• SDLTHPF indicates an initial full SDLT library.
• SDLTHPC indicates an initial capacity-on-demand SDLT
library.
• SDLT indicates an SDLT library purchased before capa-
city-on-demand was introduced.
Read Cabinet Type
Clears the Prevent Media Removal bit. Unloads the tape
cartridge to the original slot or to the first empty slot. Force Drive Unload
Checks for unrestricted motion of the library robotics, in-
cluding between cabinets. CLM Self Test (primary cabin-
ets only)
Moves the CLM shuttle along the entire CLM arm, ending
with the shuttle extended into the primary cabinet. CLM to Home Position
(primary cabinets only)
Performs an inventory of the library, then checks each slot
in the library, sequentially, to determine whether there is
free movement of the tapes in and out of the slots. Sequential Slot Test (stan-
dalone or primary cabinets
only)
Performs an inventory of the library, then checks drives in
the library, sequentially, to determine whether it is commu-
nicating properly with the drives. Sequential Drive Test (stan-
dalone or primary cabinets
