Transfer tasks from XP Continuous Access secondary sites to primary sites (3DC multi-target)
If you remove failures from the primary site and other locations after the system changes to a 3DC
multi-target configuration (see
Recovering from primary site failures
and
configuration after primary site failure” (page 78)
), you can transfer your business tasks back to
the primary site.
To transfer your business tasks back to the primary site:
1.
Use XP RAID Manager to delete the current XP Continuous Access Journal pair, which extends
between the XP Continuous Access secondary site and XP Continuous Access Journal secondary
site (DC2 to DC3).
2.
Stop your business tasks at the XP Continuous Access Synchronous secondary site.
3.
Use XP RAID Manager to execute the
horctakeover
command on the XP Continuous Access
Synchronous pair.
4.
Use the primary volume at the primary site (DC1) to resume your business tasks.
5.
Use XP RAID Manager to create an XP Continuous Access Journal pair from DC1 to DC3.
Ensure that the XP Continuous Access Journal primary data volume is a volume at the primary
site, and the XP Continuous Access Journal secondary data volume is a volume at the XP
Continuous Access Journal secondary site. The system configuration returns to the original
3DC multi-target configuration.
