Table 54 Troubleshooting problems with status of logical paths (continued)

Corrective action

Description

Pair status

Ensure that the topology settings of the
local and remote array ports are
correct.

Ensure that you entered the correct
remote array S/N and path parameters
(for example, local array port, remote
array port, and controller ID). After that,
delete the failed path. You might need
to change the minimum paths setting or
delete the remote array to delete the
path. After deletion finishes, add the
path and the remote array again.

Specified port is not configured as an
initiator port, or this path already
exists.

Invalid Port

Delete the failed path. Check the
specified port number or cable
connection, and retry.

Specified port number is invalid. The
cable is not connected to the specified
port.

Port number invalid

Delete the failed path, and retry.

Timeout error occurred in the fibre
path between the local and remote
arrays.

Communication error

Ensure that you specified the correct
remote array port. Correct the port
number if necessary.

Ensure that the local and remote arrays
are connected by cables to each other.
If the arrays are not by cables, and
retry the operation.

Ensure that the topology settings of
ports on the local and remote arrays
are correct.

Specified port in the remote array is
physically disconnected from the local
array.

Pair-Port Number Mismatch

Ensure that the remote array port is
configured as an RCU target port.

Specified remote array port is not
configured as an RCU target port.

Pair-Port Type Mismatch

Ensure that the remote array port and
network relay devices (for example,
cables and switches) are properly
configured and functioning.

Local array is connected to the remote
array successfully, but a logical
communication timeout occurred.

Communication Failed

Repair the port status on the local array.

Failure occurred at a local array port.

Logical Blockade

Repair the port status on the remote
array. After that, delete the path using
the Delete Path or Delete DKC
command, and add the path and
remote array again using the Add Path
or Add DKC command.

Failure occurred at a remote array
port.

Repair the path relay equipment. After
that, delete the path using the Delete
Path or Delete DKC command, and add
the path and remote array again using
the Add Path or Add DKC command.

Failure occurred in the path relay
equipment.

Replace the broken cable. After that,
delete the path using the Delete Path or
Delete DKC command, and add the
path and remote array again using the
Add Path or Add DKC command.

Connection cable is physically broken.
