Notes on failures of external volumes
If a problem (including a temporary problem, for example, the cable connection cut out) occurs to
the external volume that is currently used with XP Continuous Access Journal volume pair, perform
the following processes:
1.
If the external volume cannot be used successfully, delete the XP Continuous Access Journal
volume pair using the
pairsplit -S
command.
If the S-VOL is not connected to the NAS package, release the device file used in the target
file system using the
horc_svol_delete
(non-LVM) or
horc_svol_vmdelete
(LVM)
command.
2.
Confirm all XP Continuous Access Journal volume pair statuses that are using the external
volume with problems using the
pairdisplay
command.
If the status of the XP Continuous Access Journal volume pair is PSUE, delete the volume pair
using the
pairsplit -S
command.
If you delete the XP Continuous Access Journal volume pair when the S-VOL is not connected
to the NAS package, release the device file used in the target file system using the
horc_svol_delete
(non-LVM) or
horc_svol_vmdelete
(LVM) command.
