Troubleshooting the software
The troubleshooting for software is divided into four sections:
General software troubleshooting (this page)
Installation messages (page 113)
HP Address Book Manager messages (page 114)
HP Digital Sender Link messages (page 118)
General software troubleshooting
Use the table below to solve common problems encountered while
using the software. The programs do not display messages for these
types of problems.
Installation problems
Problem Actions
The software did not
install on Windows 9x. All programs except Explorer and Systray should be closed before
installing software. Press C
TRL +A LT +D ELETE . If there are other open
programs, click one and click End Task. Repeat for each other open
program. Then, reinstall the software.
The computer cannot
read the installation
compact disc. The correct drive might not have been specified. Check for the
proper drive letter. Often, it is D or E for the CD-ROM drive.
Check the compact disc for damage. Try using the compact disc on
another computer, or copy the compact disc folders to the hard
drive. Then, install from the hard drive.
