2.1x.

2

VC 3.15 features must be disabled from VC Domains to be in the same group as VC 3.10, 3.0x, 2.3x or 2.1x.

3

For 3.15, assigning a server profile to a covered bay is not supported. However, upgrading to 3.15 does support
the existing server profiles that are already assigned to covered bays.

4

VC 3.10 features must be disabled from VC Domains to be in the same group as VC 3.0x, 2.3x or 2.1x.

5

Virtual Connect 3.0x features must be disabled for VC Domains to be in the same group as VC 2.3x or 2.1x
firmware.

6

Virtual Connect 2.3x features must be disabled for VC Domains to be in the same group as VC 2.1x firmware.

VCEM can support future versions of Virtual Connect firmware in a compatibility mode.

This compatibility mode enables a new Virtual Connect firmware version to be used immediately
with a VCEM 7.0 or later installation. For example, if Virtual Connect released a later version
of its firmware, a VC Domain within a 3.30 VC Domain Group is upgraded to the later version
of the firmware while preserving the earlier level of functionality. The VC Domain Group will
operate at the firmware version with which it was created. A subsequent VCEM release would
support the new functionality.

Virtual Connect 3.3x features that must be disabled in a VC Domain to be part of a
VC Domain Group with Virtual Connect firmware 3.15 – 3.18, 3.10, 3.0x, 2.3x,
and 2.1x

For a VC Domain to be part of a VC Domain Group with Virtual Connect firmware 3.15 – 3.18,
3.10, 3.0x, 2.3x, and 2.1x, it must conform to the following parameters:

All Virtual Connect 3.15 – 3.18 features not supported by VC firmware 3.10 must be disabled
(for VC Domain Groups with firmware mode 3.10).

All Virtual Connect 3.10 features not supported by VC firmware 3.0x must be disabled (for
VC Domain Groups with firmware mode 3.0x).

All Virtual Connect 3.0x features not supported by VC firmware 2.3x must be disabled (for
VC Domain Groups with firmware mode 2.3x).

All Virtual Connect 2.3x features not supported by VC firmware 2.1x must be disabled (for
VC Domain Groups with firmware mode 2.1x).
