Many-to-One
Description Many source machines are protected by one target machine.
Application This configuration is appropriate for offsite disaster recovery. This is also an excellent choice for
providing centralized tape backup because it spreads the cost of one target machine among many
source machines.
Considerations The target machine must be carefully managed. It must have enough disk space and RAM to support
replication from all of the source systems. If using failover, scripts must be coordinated to ensure that,
in the event that the target machine stands in for multiple machines, the respective applications will not
conflict.The NIC(s) must be able to accommodate traffic for all monitored machines if they should fail
simultaneously.
