Example: Using FTP to Transfer Files
This example shows how to use FTP to move the setuprun, filemgr, and nskunpk files
from the CD-ROM or DVD to the NonStop system and how to run the setuprun file.
On the PC:
1. Check that the CD-ROM or DVD is in the proper drive.
2. Open a command prompt and connect to the NonStop host system:
C:\>ftp riddlr.tandem-education.com
Connected to riddlr.tandem-education.com.
3. Enter your user name and password:
220 RIDDLR FTP SERVER T9552D40 (Version 3.d TANDEM 09JAN98)
ready.
User (riddlr.tandem-education.com:(none)): super.super
331 Password required for SUPER.SUPER.
Password:
230 User SUPER.SUPER logged in. OSS API enabled
4. Enable the Guardian API:
ftp> quote guardian
257 Guardian API enabled.
5. Change the host directory to where you want to place the files:
ftp> cd $class1.install
250 CWD command successful.
6. Change your local directory to where the files (setuprun, filemgr, nskunpk) you
want to transfer are located:
ftp> lcd e:\nsk_sw\tools\risc
Local directory now E:\nsk_sw\tools\RISC
7. Copy the setuprun file to the host system:
ftp> put setuprun
200 PORT command successful.
150 Opening data connection for SETUPRUN
(130.252.147.121,4242d).
226 Transfer complete.
