Manual Software Placement Using
FTP and SETUPRUN
To move IP software from the CD-ROM or other IP delivery medium (DVD) to a
NonStop system, using IPSetup without using the Windows application interface:
Task 1: Determine the IP Version
Task 2: Move the Files From the CD-ROM or DVD to the NonStop System
Task 3: Unpack the Files on the NonStop System
Task 4: Perform Cleanup Activities
Task 1: Determine the IP Version
1. Read the readme.txt file.
Locate the readme.txt file for the IP in the root directory of the CD-ROM or DVD.
This file tells you which NonStop environment (such as CISC, RISC, or TNS/E) of
your IP product version (such as SR99V1) to use based on your NonStop
hardware platform (HP NonStop K-series, S-series system or Itanium Processor
Family) and operating system RVU (such as D45, G05, or H06).
2. Locate the product subdirectory on the CD-ROM.
a. On your workstation, navigate to the nsk_sw directory on the CD-ROM.
b. Open the directory containing the product subdirectory you want. This
subdirectory name has the format:

Examples:
SJ08V1
SJ91V5
SM40V10
c.
In the product subdirectory, open the subdirectory that matches the destination
NonStop platform, either CISC, RISC, or TNSE.
Note. For the TNS/E platform, use the T6031H01 version of IPSetup.

is the product identifier.
Vn

n
]
is the version identifier, starting with V1. (Versions are incremented
in whole numbers: V1, V2, and so on.)
