Setting the IP address using the ARP command
An IPI 200 Series unit’s IP address can be set using the DOS Address Resolution
Protocol (ARP) command.
The IPI 200 Series unit must be:
• physically connected to the network
• at its factory default IP address
To set an IP address using the ARP command:

. Open a command prompt window on a local PC. On Windows XP, a
command prompt window can be found at:
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt

. At the command prompt type:
arp ‑ s
example: C:\>arp -s 192.168.254.254 00-05-A6-00-30-5F
The example command assigns IP address 192.168.254.254 to the device that
has a MAC address of 00‑05‑A6‑00‑30‑5F.

To confirm the new IP address is active, perform a ping command to the new
IP address.
example: C:\>ping
192.168.254.254
If the IP address setting was successful, the device replies 3 or more times:
