As mentioned, this mode is used to simulate a logarithmic logging mode. Below is a simple
setup showing a logarithmic type logging setup.

This example shows the logging rate starting out fast and then slowing down. The rate can
change as needed; slow to fast, fast to slow and back to fast, etc.
